Why the Best Travel Advice Is Still Human

The Evora Story

It started with a hardworking family and a passion for travel.

Over decades of trips, the destinations changed, the experiences became more refined, and a taste for the exceptional grew. The more we traveled, the more we began to appreciate the details, like the restaurant tucked away from the crowds, the hotel room with the view worth requesting, the beach that still felt undiscovered, the wine list that made an evening memorable.

Then came a trip with Explora Journeys.

Planning it should have been part of the excitement. Instead, we found ourselves spending hours searching for the details that would make the journey truly exceptional.

The information was everywhere.

Finding the right information was not.

And that became the question that started Evora: How do you clear away the noise and make the hardest-to-find travel knowledge easier to discover?

The founders of Evora are no strangers to building what comes next. With experience creating and running businesses, working within the world's largest hospitality company, and traveling extensively, they brought different perspectives to the same problem.

There had to be a better way.

So, How Do You Find the Best?

There is a particular kind of question that comes up when you are planning a journey.

Not Where should I go? You can find an answer to that in seconds.

It is the question that comes after.

Where would you go?

Perhaps it is a friend with impeccable taste who always seems to know about a place before anyone else does. Or someone you met once, somewhere in the world, whose recommendation stayed with you long after the trip ended.

We have more information about travel at our fingertips than ever before. We can see thousands of photographs before we arrive, read hundreds of reviews, compare ships and hotels down to the smallest detail, and ask an algorithm to build an itinerary around our preferences.

But the things that make a journey exceptional are often harder to quantify.

It might be the quiet side of an island. The room with the better view. A restaurant tucked away from the main square. A village you pass through on the way to somewhere else. The decision to spend an extra afternoon somewhere you had only planned to visit for lunch.

And most importantly, it is knowing why someone is recommending it to you.

That is where taste comes in.

And taste is deeply human.

Meet Evora

Evora is a luxury travel intelligence platform built around a simple idea: combine the depth of human travel experience with the power of technology to make exceptional travel knowledge easier to find.

We believe travelers don't necessarily need more information. They need a better perspective and a better way to find it.

So we built Evora to work the way travelers already think.

You don't have to learn a new way to search or figure out the right words to ask. You can simply ask the question that's on your mind, exactly as you would ask someone who has been there before.

Looking for journeys that stop in Copenhagen? Somewhere warm in October? A journey through the Red Sea?

Simply ask.

But the real magic happens when you go deeper.

What is life actually like onboard? Which cabin would you choose? What should I know before I arrive? What does a typical day look like? What should I book ahead of time?

These are the questions that don't always have an answer in a brochure or a search result.

Evora brings together the experiences of people who have been there before you and uses technology to turn those perspectives into a response that makes sense for you.

Across journeys, destinations, onboard experiences, logistics and the details in between, Evora helps you move from a broad question to a more personal answer.

Because sometimes you don't need another list of recommendations.

You need someone who has already been there to tell you what they would do.

That's the magic of Evora.

Who Gets a Voice on Evora?

This is where Evora is different.

We aren't simply scanning the web and returning whatever happens to rank highest. We carefully select the contributors whose knowledge and perspective we believe are worth bringing into the Evora community.

They may be seasoned travelers, hospitality professionals, local experts, creators, chefs, designers or people who have spent years developing an intimate knowledge of a particular place.

What they share is experience. And perspective.

There is no open application. We find you.

Because when you're looking for the extraordinary, who is giving the recommendation matters just as much as the recommendation itself.

How to Experience Evora

Evora was designed to be simple.

Visit HERE and start with the question you have.

If you already have an Explora Journeys sailing booked, explore Discover for insights from people who have sailed before you. Find the details that don't always make it into a brochure: menus, hours, cabins, excursions, and the little things that can make a journey your own.

If you're planning your next journey, explore Plan to discover the sailing that fits what you're looking for. From there, you can track pricing and follow the journey as you plan what comes next.

Because the best journeys aren't always found by searching harder.

Sometimes, they're found by asking better questions.

And knowing who to ask.
