Cookies that keep Evora working
The site cannot work without these, so they need no consent. None of them is used for advertising.
- Your visitor cookie
- An anonymous ID (
evora_visitor) that keeps your favorites, collections and tracked sailings before you have an account, and moves them to your account when you sign up. We also use it to count page visits for our own reports. - Sign-in and security
- Keep you signed in while you browse, and protect the site’s forms from being submitted by another website.
- Your cookie choice
- Remembers what you chose in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again. The banner comes from Cookiebot, which keeps a record of your choice for us.
- Site settings
- Your browser also keeps a few settings for the site, such as light or dark appearance and which tips you have already seen. They stay on your device.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find us. It sets its cookies only after you allow statistics cookies in the banner. If you decline, it sets none: your browser still tells Google that a page was viewed, without cookies, so we can estimate how many people visit.
From other sites
Videos and error reports
Creator videos open from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode when you choose to play one. Videos inside news articles load from YouTube or Vimeo with the article, and those players may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. When a page breaks in your browser, a report of the error goes to our error tracker, Sentry, so we can fix it; it sets no cookies.
